Bars and restaurants along Chippewa Street expect a busy Sunday during the Bills playoff game

BUFFALO NY (WIVB) — Many local bars and restaurants will be filled with Bills fans watching every second of the playoff game between the Chiefs. Downtown businesses on Chippewa Street are expecting a very busy Sunday.

“I think everyone downtown is going to be busy. Every bar and restaurant, not even downtown, but in the suburbs, everywhere, is going to have people enjoying the game,” said Tim Walton, who is the director of Bottoms UP. “I think it’s an away game, I think everyone wants a place to watch the game.”

Places like Bottoms UP, Buffalo Tap House and SoHo plan to serve many Bills fans looking to watch the game.

“If it’s like it’s been last week, there will be standing room only,” said SoHo owner Jay Manno. “You know a big crowd, a good atmosphere. Typical Buffalo fair, beef chicken wings on weck, keep it real Buffalo tomorrow.

“It’s usually very crowded for games,” said Tara Clock, who runs the bar at Buffalo Tap House. “I mean the bar is usually full, people are up half the time because they’re cheering anyway, so there’s plenty of seating for everyone and usually people stay after to go out too, so it’s always fun.”

Walton says when people get excited about the Bills, they go to local bars and restaurants to experience the fan atmosphere and get excited for the game.

“Being able to open for Bills games and you know people are excited about it, it’s a little busier than normal, more people are going out and people are having fun now,” he said. . “It’s not just about going out and watching the Bills lose, we’re going out and watching the Bills win every week, it’s finally something for people to rally around and get excited about.”
