BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) – Buffalo restaurant owner doesn’t apologize after posting and since removing an Instagram post from a menu showing a sexually explicit image depicting New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and a tiger from cartoon.
A screenshot of the Instagram post appeared on Buffalo News Food Twitter, condemning Roost on Niagara Street for posting Instagram.
Roost owner Martin Danilowicz spoke by phone to 7 Eyewitness News and explained why he posted the photo in the first place, saying: âThe post meant nothing, I thought it was a joke. Anyone who claims I’m homophobic is ridiculous, the reason we posted it was because we felt like we weren’t getting our fair share like many other restaurants. “
Danilowicz added, “I have hundreds of gay friends, and none of them took issue with what I posted.”
When asked why he deleted the message, Danilowicz said: âI was worried about [news] stations coming to the restaurant and taking pictures, and I thought it better take it out. “
Danilowicz says he doesn’t apologize for the post, saying, “Cuomo kind of stuck with me for a year and that’s how we felt.”
âTo make someone believe that I am homophobic or that I incite rape is extremely unfair,â Danilowicz said.
